Do you think you’re a good designer? Then it’s time to find out! RS Components and Allied Electronics has a brand new challenge for designers. They ask them to use their 3D design software DesignSpark Mechanical in order to create an original and innovative design.
It doesn’t matter what kind of designer you are, because this challenge is open to designers of all kinds. RS Components and Allied Electronics asks designers to create a creative and innovative design that has something to do with the principles of mobility, accessibility as well as green living.
And what is there to win? Well, a lot. The winner of this competition earns £5,000 and the first ever Ormerod 3D printer created by RepRapPro. The number two and three each win a prize of £2,500.
Participants have to download the software, create a 3D representation of their design and submit the idea by uploading it to DesignShare. Each idea will be posted in that page and votes will be cast. Design experts taking part in this challenge include Trevor Baylis (OBE) – inventor of the iconic wind-up radio and Adrian Bowyer (RepRapPro).
